Youth and Family
Welcome to Youth and Family Programming at The Shtiebel, your home for Jewish learning and community in South Philadelphia!
Early Childhood Programming
We bring Jewish traditions to life with hands-on fun, creativity, and a spirit of togetherness. Our programs are rooted in child-centered teaching, where every activity is designed with your child’s curiosity, creativity, and growth in mind.
Some of our Programming:
-
Kids Davening: Foster a meaningful connection to prayer through fun and accessible davening sessions tailored for young minds. This davening is designed by Rabbanit Dasi Fruchter and our youth davening team for Shtiebelers ages 6 through 11.
-
Tot Shabbat: Join us in our Playlab for a weekly davening experience volunteer-led by parents for parents with young children (ages 0 to 3)
-
Family Musical Kabbalat Shabbat: A joyous, music-filled Friday night service where families come together to sing, celebrate, and welcome Shabbat.
-
Tot Sukkah Singalong and Puppet Show: A fun-filled event for our youngest learners, combining music, storytelling, and hands-on Sukkot activities.
-
Kids and Parents Mishnah Learning & Ice Cream Party in the Sukkah: A chance for kids and parents to learn Torah together, followed by an ice cream celebration under the Sukkah.
-
Sensory-Friendly Programming: Inclusive activities thoughtfully designed for children with sensory sensitivities, ensuring everyone can participate comfortably.
We create opportunities for kids and parents to celebrate and learn together with weekly classes, family events, and special holiday programs. Our welcoming, engaging, and fun atmosphere ensures that every child feels empowered to explore Jewish life at their own pace.
